    • Rules and Regulations of CDTA Tennis League

      • Authority:
        CDTA retains the authority to accept, reject, promote, or relegate any team without providing reasons.
      • Match Format:
        Each round has 3 doubles matches that is played best of 3 sets. First two sets use standard tiebreaker, 3rd set is MTB (Super Tie Breaker)
      • Playing Surface:
        The hosting team has priority in deciding the playing surface. Matches shall be played on the surface provided by the hosting team, unless both teams mutually agree to use an alternative surface (clay or synthetic)
      • Player Eligibility:
        Only enrolled players residing in Coimbatore, Tirupur, Pollachi, and Nilgiris districts can participate.
      • Player Registration and Documentation:
        All players participating in the CDTA league has to submit mandatory ADHAAR. Max 2 outstation players per team are eligible to participate and ADHAAR is mandatory. International players must provide passports.
      • Mandatory Documentation Upload:
        Teams must upload photos and address proof before deadline. Missing documents disqualify players/teams.
      • Player Participation Limit:
        A player cannot participate in more than one match per round or for more than one team.
      • Match Balls:
        Home team must provide 3 new AITA-approved balls per match.
      • Visiting Team Protocol:
        Visiting team must report to home captain upon arrival.
      • Match Scheduling, Weather Interruptions & Result Updates:
        Matches may be preponed by mutual agreement. Postponements allowed only for weather/government closures. Washouts must be completed before the immediate Friday 7 PM. Results must be updated within 24 hours. Unplayed matches earn no points.
      • Court Assignment & Match Times:
        Multiple ties must use separate courts. Matches start at Morning Session 7:00 AM or Evening Sesison 3:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday
      • Pre-Match Communication:
        Visiting team must contact home team 48 hours before match day.
      • Session Selection:
        The home team decides the match session, and the visiting team must agree.
      • Match Scoring:
        Winners of matches earn 1 point; losers earn 0.
      • Player Draw Protocol:
        Players must be physically present before the draw. Only available players may be drawn.
      • Match Start Times & Delays:
        If a team fails to arrive within 30 minutes of the scheduled match time, the team that is present and waiting has the right to claim the match by default.
      • Tie-Break Rules:
        Two-Way Tie Head-to-head result determines the higher-ranked team. Three or Multi-Team Tie (All matches played against all teams in the group will be considered.) Rule 1: Highest Percentage of Sets Won A) A higher percentage results in a higher ranking. B) A lower percentage results in a lower ranking. C) If only two teams remain tied after this rule, their head-to-head result will determine the ranking. D) MTB counts as one set. Rule 2: Highest Percentage of Games Won A) A higher percentage results in a higher ranking. B) A lower percentage results in a lower ranking. C) If only two teams remain tied after this rule, their head-to-head result will determine the ranking. D) MTB does NOT count as games. Rule 3: Still Tied Ranking will be determined by drawing lots. Percentage Formula: Percentage = (Sets or Games Won ÷ Total Sets or Games Played) × 100 MTB = Match Tie-Breaker (Super Tie-Breaker) Application Flow: 1. Apply Rule 1 to all tied teams. 2. If the tie is still unresolved, apply Rule 2. 3. If the tie still remains, apply Rule 3. Each rule is applied only if the previous rule does not produce a complete ranking among all tied teams. 4. NOTE :- Points won in super tie breaker will not be considered when calculating the number of games won or lost in case of a 3 way / multi way team tie
      • Venue Requirements:
        Home team must maintain backdrop, nets, seating, scoreboard, and drinking water.
      • Misconduct:
        Fighting, abusive behavior, or misconduct can result in suspension or disqualification of the player or the team.
      • Match-Fixing:
        Any proof of match-fixing results in immediate disqualification of the team and and the points will be nullified.
      • Dispute Resolution:
        Line call disputes must be resolved by players; captains may assist. No external involvement allowed.
      • Match Rating Submission:
        Teams must submit ratings after each match for results to be processed.
      • Tournament Winner & Prizes (For Each Division):
        Team with highest points wins the Rolling Shield. Top 3 teams receive awards.
      • Promotion & Relegation (For Each Division):
        Top 2 teams promoted, bottom 2 relegated. Adjustments may apply to balance the number of teams in each division.
      • Prize Distribution:
        Prize distribution details will be communicated after the tournament.
      • Fees:
        Entry Fee: INR 1,100 per player. Affiliation Fee: INR 7,500 for new teams.
      • Communication:
        All communication must go through the Tournament Director or Supervisor.

        Note : All results will be governed strictly in accordance with the official rule book at all times. In the event of any error arising from the scoring system or software, the Tournament Director / Supervisor will review the situation and manually correct the results. The Tournament Director / Supervisor decision in such cases will be final and binding on all participants.

NOTE

The entry fee is INR 1,100/- per player. A team participating for the first time has to pay INR 7,500/- as affiliation fee.
It is Mandatory for the teams to upload passport size photographs for all their team members in the group on the website along with one of the address proofs. If the picture or ID proof of a particular team member is not uploaded before the deadline, then the player will not be allowed to play in the tournament. If a particular team does not upload the photo or ID proof of all of its team members (Minimum 6 Players), then the entire team will not be allowed to play. However, no data can be uploaded after the given registration deadline.
